Two Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Clarendon

DONLEY COUNTY, TX (December 27, 2023) – Sunday, Yolanda Castillo and Alicia Salinas Flores were killed in a car accident on US 287.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., about three miles east of Clarendon.

Per reports, the driver of a pickup-truck veered off the road and struck a traffic sign before traveling back onto the road.

The driver of an eastbound Nissan Altima then hit the pickup-truck. Investigators say the truck entered the ditch and came to rest against a barbed wire fence.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 77-year-old Flores dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took a passenger, 60-year-old Castillo of Memphis to a nearby hospital where they later died.
