30-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near US 60

PARMER COUNTY, TX (December 27, 2023) – Monday morning, Cinthya Guerrero was killed in a big-rig collision on County Road 17.

The incident occurred around 6:50 a.m., about a mile southwest of Friona near US 60.

Per reports, 26-year-old Jose Ortega, of Clovis was driving a 1999 Peterbilt truck towing a trailer north and stopped at the intersection of US 60.

Ortega then turned left from County Road 17 onto US 60 and failed to yield the right-of-way to an oncoming car. As a result, the big-rig and a Chevrolet Cruze collided.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the driver of the Cruze dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 30-year-old Guerrero, of Friona.
