77-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Go Car Wash

ROCKDALE, TX (December 26, 2023) – Wednesday evening, James Robert Anderson was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 79.

Around 6:30 p.m., police responded to the scene at the 700 block of Highway 79 near the Go Car Wash on December 13th.

Per reports, Anderson was walking from Walmart to the Quality Inn Motel and failed to yield to an oncoming car. As a result, 21-year-old Ethan Wade Taylor struck the pedestrian.

Medical personnel pronounced 77-year-old Anderson dead, due to the extent of his condition.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with authorities, and the crash is still under active investigation.
