54-Year-Old Coachella Man Killed after Bicycle Collision in Indio
INDIO, CA (December 26, 2023) – Thursday evening, a hit-and-run collision on Grapefruit Boulevard claimed the life of one person.
The deadly crash happened around 11:30 p.m. at the northbound 54000 of Grapefruit Boulevard.
According to the CHP, an unknown southbound vehicle hit a man riding a bike in the northbound lanes.
Afterward, a second vehicle hit the victim and stopped to contact emergency dispatch.
Reports said the first driver involved did not pull over to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.
Tragically, the first responders declared the bicyclist dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased victim as a 54-year-old man from Coachella.
At this time, the police have not provided any additional information about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
