Alfred Velma, Celsey Lively Killed in 2-Car Accident on Highway 287 [Anderson County, TX]
Two Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near CR 1435
ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (December 26, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a 2-car accident on Highway 287 killed Alfred Velma and Celsey Lively.
First responders arrived to the area near CR 1435 just north of Elkhart.
Investigators say Velma, of Seagoville was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma that was towing a trailer south and approached a curve. There, the trailer began to sway, causing the vehicle to lose control.
Medics later pronounced both 62-year-old Velma and 32-year-old Lively, of Elkhart dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation into the crash is still currently underway.
