Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Crash near El Rancho Road

TRACY, CA (December 21, 2023) – Thursday night, a pedestrian accident on Interstate 205 involving a semi-truck resulted in one fatality. 

According to the CHP, a Honda Civic became disabled on the right shoulder of westbound I-205 around 10:20 p.m. 

The driver of a Honda Accord pulled over in front of the Civic to render aid to the driver. Reports said the Honda Civic became operational moments later and started backing up from the right shoulder.

As a result, a semi-truck hauling a trailer collided with the back of the Civic. The impact of the collision caused the truck to veer onto the right shoulder and hit the man and a woman who got out of the Honda Accord. 

There, the male pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. It was also determined that the Honda Civic driver was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
