4 Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Highway 130 [Austin, TX]
Four Pronounced Dead after Multi-Car Accident near Maha Loop Road
AUSTIN, TX (December 20, 2023) – Sunday, four victims were killed and two were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision on State Highway 130.
Around 4:15 p.m., police responded to the scene at the 10500 block of the freeway near Maha Loop Road.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a Peterbilt dump-truck was heading north and collided with another vehicle. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced four occupants inside the car dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, crews airlifted another occupant to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for life-threatening injuries. In addition, another occupant declined further medical treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety advised all motorists to avoid the area of State Highway 130 as crews cleared the scene. Austin Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the multi-vehicle collision on State Highway 130.
