Solo-Vehicle Accident near Scripps Poway Parkway Kills 82-Year-Old Driver
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 19, 2023) – Thursday evening, a car crash on Spring Canyon Road left an elderly man dead and a child hospitalized.
The fatal incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. at Spring Canyon Rd. and Scripps Poway Parkway in the Scripps Ranch area.
Based on the report, an 82-year-old man in a 2023 Tesla Model Y failed to negotiate a curve while going eastbound.
As a result, the Tesla collided with the south curb of the center island and hit several trees.
The crash ejected the driver from the vehicle, leaving him with fatal injuries. Responding medical personnel declared the 82-year-old man dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a 6-year-old passenger from the Tesla was hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries.
