Leroy Don Smith, Youkhana Atrmiz Killed in Head-On Collision on Hatch Road [Ceres, CA]
Two Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident near Boothe Road
CERES, CA (December 19, 2023) – Tuesday evening, Leroy Don Smith and Youkhana Atrmiz died in a head-on collision on Hatch Road.
The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m., near Booth Road.
According to reports, the driver of an eastbound white Chrysler 300 crossed the double yellow lines for unknown reasons. The Chrysler then collided head-on with a blue Toyota Prius, trapping three people inside both vehicles.
Despite life-saving efforts, the Toyota passenger died at the scene. He was later identified as 89-year-old Smith, of Castro Valley.
The Chrysler driver, identified as 36-year-old Atrmiz, of Ceres, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, the 64-year-old woman driving the Toyota remained at the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
At this time, the Ceres Police Traffic Unit Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation. Those with additional information about the crash are encouraged to contact Officer Aaron Pinon at 209-538-5678.
