Two-Vehicle Collision near State Route 347 Involving Van Resulted in One Death

GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY, AZ (December 18, 2023) – On Wednesday afternoon, a deadly accident on Riggs Road killed one person.

The incident took place on Riggs Road near State Route 347 around 3:00 p.m., December 6th, involving a van and another vehicle.

Furthermore, according to the Gila River Police Department, the van was occupied by a junior high school sports team while the vehicle only had one occupant.

Moreover, the driver of the vehicle died at the scene. Meanwhile, the occupants of the van suffered moderate to serious injuries.

The authorities blocked the westbound lanes of Riggs Road for several hours.

No additional information was added by the officials, and an active investigation is currently underway.
