Pedestrian Crash near West Hillsdale Boulevard Left 2 Injured
SAN MATEO, CA (December 18, 2023) – Police arrested Christian ChavezLainez last Tuesday evening following a hit-and-run crash on Edison Street.
Police responded to the incident around 8:55 p.m. at the intersection of Edison St. and West Hillsdale Boulevard.
According to the police, a black Toyota Corolla struck the two pedestrians for unknown reasons. However, the driver did not pull over to render aid to the victims and fled the scene.
Medical responders treated the two victims and the scene. In addition, one of the victims managed to take a photo of the suspect’s vehicle, which they shared with the police.
On Wednesday, authorities arrested 30-year-old Christian ChavezLainez of Redwood City in a residence in Belmont.
ChavezLainez was booked to San Mateo County Jail for suspected felony hit-and-run.
