Man Killed, Two Others Injured in Head-On Crash on Winchester Road [Temecula, CA]
20-Year-Old Winchester Man Dead in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Pourroy Road
TEMECULA, CA (December 12, 2023) – Friday evening, a head-on crash on Winchester Road left a male driver dead and two others hospitalized.
The deadly collision happened around 8:30 p.m. along the westbound lanes of Winchester Road, north of Pourroy Road.
According to a witness account, a northbound Honda Accord made an illegal U-turn, taking over two sets of double yellow lines.
As a result, the Honda collided with a Nissan Rouge SUV traveling southbound on the same road.
Responding emergency personnel transported the Accord driver to Inland Valley Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 56-year-old male driver of the Nissan and his 17-year-old boy passenger to a hospital. The two Oceanside residents were treated for moderate injuries.
Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
The CH’s Temecula-area office is leading the investigation.
