58-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Accident on North Solider Trail

TUCSON, AZ (December 12, 2023) – Early Saturday evening, Cathaleen Pelayo was fatally struck in a 2-car accident on East Tanque Verde Road.

The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m., near North Solider Trail on December 2nd.

For reasons under investigation, two vehicles collided at the intersection. First responders located 58-year-old Pelayo unconscious on the highway with significant injuries.

Due to the extent of her condition, medics later pronounced 58-year-old Pelayo dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the other involved driver remained uninjured. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Investigators say no charges were filed against the other driver.
