32-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near County Road 5400

LUBBOCK, TX (December 11, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, Jermaine William Nord died in a pedestrian collision on Interstate 27.

The incident occurred just before 3:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near County Road 5400 on November 29th.

Officers say 28-year-old Brandon Brown was driving an 18-wheeler north and struck Nord. According to reports, Nord was involved in a hit-and-run collision where he fled by foot and went onto the highway.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 32-year-old Nord dead at the scene.
