24-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Car Collision near State Highway 35

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (December 11, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Destiny Leiba was killed in an auto accident on State Highway 35.

The incident occurred around 2:49 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Aransas Pass.

Per reports, Leiba was driving south in a 2017 Chevrolet Spark in attempt to merge onto State Highway 35 from Aransas Pass. Investigators say she was traveling at a high rate of speed and veered onto the median where she lost control.

The Chevrolet then became airborne before striking a nearby Ford SUV, driven by Rockport resident Amanda Hynes. Authorities transported her to a local hospital with her three children, who are all under 5 years old.
