20-Year-Old Passenger Killed in Car Accident near State Highway 31

SMITH COUNTY, TX (December 11, 2023) – Monday afternoon, Aidan Kelley was fatally struck in an auto collision on County Road 246.

The incident occurred around 12:09 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of County Road 246.

Authorities said 18-year-old Cameron S. Reeves, of Hawkins was driving west in an Isuzu truck with Kelley as a passenger. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. 

For reasons under investigation, Reeves failed to drive in a single lane and struck an eastbound Ford F-150. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 20-year-old Kelley, of Chandler dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities transported the driver of a second vehicle, 67-year-old Robert Pierzchalski of Henderson to Christus Mother Frances in Tyler. Officers also stated that Pierzchalski was wearing a seatbelt.
