Man and Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Winburn Tide Lane

LA PORTE, TX (December 6, 2023) – Monday evening, two people were pronounced dead following a 2-car accident on Spencer Highway.

The incident happened at the 11400 block of the freeway near Winburn Tide Lane just before 10:00 p.m., on November 13th.

According to the La Porte Police Department, the incident involved a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2013 Toyota Tacoma.

Troopers learned that the Chevy, driven by a woman, was speeding in the eastbound lanes with no headlights. The Chevy then veered over to the center lanes and collided with the Toyota.

Upon impact, one of the vehicles rolled over. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced both the male and female driver dead at the scene.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
