Unidentified Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Accident near Avenue 12

MADERA COUNTY, CA (December 5, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Highway 145 claimed the life of one woman. 

California Highway Patrol received reports of a person lying in the roadway shortly after 2:00 p.m., just north of Avenue 12. 

According to officers, the driver of a vehicle swerved on the highway and collided with the victim. However, the driver did not pull over and continued driving. 

First responders declared the woman dead at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from next of kin. 

At this time, police have not released any information about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. 

Authorities are encouraging those with additional information about the fatal Highway 145 hit-and-run to contact Madera County Officials immediately.
