17-Year-Old Female Passenger Dies after a Deadly Rollover Incident

RICHLAND, WA (December 5, 2023) – On Tuesday, a rollover incident on State Route 240 killed one passenger, police said.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the incident happened in the eastbound lane of State Route 240 at milepost 34.

Furthermore, the investigation showed that a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man with two 17-year-old passengers, a male and a female, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Moreover, the authorities determined that all occupants were wearing their seatbelts. Unfortunately, the 17-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Consequently, the area was blocked during the length of the incident, but it was later reopened. The identity of the victim was not yet released, but the family was notified.
