35-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead in Head-on Collision
PROSSER, WA (December 5, 2023) – On Sunday morning, police responded to a deadly crash that claimed the life of Heleodoro Lopez Rodriguez.
The incident occurred just before 10:00 a.m., November 26th, in the westbound lanes of Interstate 82 at milepost 83.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision involved a 2005 BMW X5 driven by 35-year-old Rodriguez, a semi-truck with a trailer driven by 36-year-old Jonathan J. Burgess, and another vehicle.
Furthermore, the authorities determined that Rodriguez was headed eastbound when he suddenly went to the westbound lanes and collided head-on with Burgess.
Unfortunately, Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries, and responding officers pronounced him dead. They added that he was not wearing his seatbelt.
Meanwhile, Burgess suffered injuries to an unknown extent and first responders took him to Prosser Memorial Hospital.
The investigators added no other information and an active investigation is currently underway.
