Truck Vs Bicycle Collision Near MLK Boulevard Left 2 Bicyclists Injured

SACRAMENTO, CA (December 5, 2023) – A bicycle accident on Highway 99 offramp Friday evening sent at least two people to a hospital. 

Officials received reports of the incident around 6:00 p.m. near 35th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. 

According to the CHP, a box truck and two bicyclists were involved in the incident. However, the circumstances that led up to the collision remain unclear. 

Responding medical personnel transported the two bicyclists to a hospital in a critical condition. 

At this time, they were only identified as men in their 40s and mid-30s. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the box truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident. 

In the end, Sacramento County Officials closed the northbound Highway 99 offramp for investigation.
