One Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Collision near Wilson Way

STOCKTON, CA (December 5, 2023) – Early Sunday evening, one victim was fatally struck in a bicycle accident on Highway 4. 

The collision happened around 5:30 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the highway, near Wilson Way.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle struck a bicyclist in the area.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.  

First responders declared the bicyclist dead at the scene. However, their identity has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

According to the investigators, the bicyclist did not have any lights and was not wearing reflective gear at the time. 

The eastbound lanes of Highway 4 remained closed for several hours as crews investigated the fatal bicycle accident. Once available, further details will be provided.
