81-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Accident near South Merialdo Lane
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 4, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Susan Rynas was fatally struck in a DUI collision on West Charleston Boulevard.
The incident occurred just before 2:00 p.m., near South Merialdo Lane on November 12th.
Per reports, the 80-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla was heading east on Charleston and made a left turn onto Merialdo Lane.
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Fahid Amin was heading west at high rates of speed and the two vehicles collided. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the 81-year-old female passenger inside the Toyota, Rynas, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics took the Toyota driver to UMC Trauma with moderate injuries.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Amin displayed signs of impairment. As a result, he was charged with suspicion of DUI. The LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section is handling further investigation.
