Kham Lam Dead, Cherise Shanta Arrested after Head-On Crash on Airport Boulevard [San Francisco, CA]
40-Year-Old Antioch Woman Arrested after Deadly Wrong-Way Collision near Denny’s Restaurant
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 4, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Kham Lam was fatally struck in a head-on crash on Airport Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 3:24 a.m., on November 21st in South San Francisco.
According to the police, a wrong-way driver crossed two intersections before striking an oncoming vehicle. The impact of the crash took the life of an innocent driver.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 56-year-old Kham Lam of Daly City.
Following the crash, the wrong-way driver exited her vehicle and walked inside a nearby Denny’s where she asked for water. Responding authorities questioned and detained the woman two days after the crash.
On Monday, 40-year-old Cherise Nicole Shanta Wafer was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter. Wafer is currently being held at San Mateo County Jail in Redwood with a $50,000 bail.
At this time, authorities are asking those who witnessed the crash to contact the South San Francisco Police Department.
