9-Year-Old Arizona Boy Ejected in Solo-Vehicle Crash near Highway 190

TULARE COUNTY, CA (November 30, 2023) – A 9-year-old boy and three other people were hospitalized after an SUV crash on Highway 99. 

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 99 and Highway 190 in Tipton. 

According to California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old driver of a southbound GMC Yukon lost control for unknown reasons. 

Subsequently, the Yukon went onto the west dirt shoulder before overturning and hitting a metal wire fence. 

Police said the Yukon was carrying six people and the 9-year-old boy, who wasn’t a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.

In the end, paramedics transported the boy from Arizona and three other passengers to a hospital for treatment. Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary.

Tulare County Officials continue to investigate the Highway 99 SUV Crash.
