Andy Yi Fatally Struck in DUI Collision on South Valley View Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
35-Year-Old Driver Dies, Sean Cornwall Arrested after DUI Accident near West Flamingo Road
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 30, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Andy Yi was fatally struck in a DUI collision on South Valley View Boulevard.
Authorities responded to the scene around 3:10 a.m., near West Flamingo Road on November 12th.
Per reports, the driver of a 2004 Toyota Corolla was heading east through a green light. There, the driver of 2016 Toyota Tundra was heading north on Valley Road and drove through the red light.
As a result, the two cars collided causing major damage to both vehicles. Responding paramedics transported 35-year-old Yi to UMC Trauma where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, police identified the Tundra driver as 49-year-old Sean Cornwall. Investigators say he sustained minor injuries, and showed signs of impairment.
Consequently, authorities booked Cornwall into jail with DUI-related charges, and the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section is conducting further investigation.
