Stephen Debow Dead after Hit-and-Run on Utah Street [San Diego, CA]
Del Mar Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Polk Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 29, 2023) – Tuesday evening, a hit-and-run collision on Utah Street claimed the life of Stephen Debow.
The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. at the 4000 block of Utah Street, south of Polk Avenue in the North Park neighborhood.
According to the police, a vehicle hit the pedestrian crossing the street. However, the driver did not render aid to the victim and continued traveling southbound.
Eventually, medical responders transported the pedestrian to Scripps Mercy Hospital where he died early Monday morning.
Later, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 42-year-old Stephen Debow of Del Mar.
At this time, the authorities are searching for a 2017 to 2022 Hyundai Ioniq with possible side-trim and side mirror damage. Moreover, some of the street was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
