Paul Spani Hospitalized, One Dead following Two-Vehicle Crash on Yosemite Boulevard [Stanislaus County, CA]
Car Collision near Geer Road Left One Dead, Firefighter Hospitalized
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (November 29, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a two-vehicle collision on Yosemite Boulevard left a male driver dead and Paul Spani hospitalized.
The deadly crash happened around 1:39 a.m. at the intersection of Yosemite Boulevard and Geer Road.
According to the police, a black Ford Fusion failed to stop at a red light and collided with the side of a silver Ford Explorer.
Responding officers discovered the Fusion pinned against a retaining wall of a gas station parking lot.
Unfortunately, the 32-year-old driver of the Fusion died at the scene. However, their name remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Investigators said the deceased driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the SUV driver to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The Explorer driver was later identified as the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District firefighter, Paul Spani.
Police are working to determine if drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash.
