19-Year-Old DUI Driver Arrested after Pedestrian Accident near Highway 18
HOBBS, NM (November 28, 2023) – Sunday morning, Randy Nahun Martinez was arrested and multiple were hurt in a DUI pedestrian crash.
Around 1:00 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of East Stanolind Road near Highway 18 on November 5th.
Per reports, 19-year-old Martinez struck six pedestrians and six vehicles, causing minor to major injuries. Paramedics immediately transported them to Covenant Hobbs Health Hospital.
During preliminary duties, Martinez displayed signs of impairment and showed twice the legal limit on a breath test.
Shortly after, authorities booked Martinez into the Lea County Detention Center. There, officers charged him with aggravated DWI, causing bodily injury, negligent use of a firearm, and six counts of aggravated battery.
