Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Rice Ranch Road
ORCUTT, CA (November 28, 2023) – Sunday morning, Mark Lee Rogers was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 135.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:34 a.m., along the southbound lanes of the highway, just south of Rice Ranch Road.
Officers say the driver of a passing vehicle hit the victim and immediately fled the scene.
Responding officers eventually arrived and discovered the unconscious pedestrian lying in the traffic lanes. Crews later identified the deceased pedestrian as 33-year-old Mark Lee Rogers of Paso Robles.
Police have not released any information regarding the suspect or the suspect’s vehicles.
The CHP closed the southbound Highway 135 for at least an hour for investigation. Those who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run are encouraged to contact Officer Maria Barriga at 805-349-8728.
