David Clark and Taj Sohi Killed in Wrong-Way Accident on Interstate 82 [Benton County, WA]
Two Drivers Killed, Multiple Injured in Wrong-Way Collision near Mile Post 99
BENTON COUNTY, WA (November 28, 2023) – Sunday morning, David Clark and Taj Sohi were pronounced dead after a crash on Interstate 82.
The incident happened around 2:20 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 82 near mile post 99 on November 12th.
Officers say 76-year-old Clark was driving a Chevrolet Silverado west in the eastbound lanes. As a result, the wrong-way vehicle collided with an eastbound 2019 Audi RS3, driven by 20-year-old Sohi.
In addition, a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup-truck and a GMC Acadia SUV became involved. Both Clark and Sohi suffered extreme injuries, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition, paramedics transported the driver and passengers inside the GMC to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.
Officers later identified the Dodge driver as 24-year-old Dalton J. Gifford, and the GMC driver as 34-year-old Jesus Soto Lara. In addition, a passenger inside the GMC was identified as 37-year-old Laura Rodriguez Perez.
Meanwhile, authorities took into Benton County jail Gifford was for DUI charges, as he was determined to be intoxicated.
