Pedestrian-Auto Collision in South Bakersfield Kills 68-Year-Old Man
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 27, 2023) – A pedestrian crash on Hughes Lane last month of September took the life of Stephen Howard Georgi.
The fatal collision happened on September 26 at around 7:39 p.m. in the 2400 block of Hughes Lane in south Bakersfield.
According to the initial report, a vehicle hit a pedestrian. However, the circumstances that led up to the crash remain unclear.
Responding medical personnel transported the pedestrian to Kern Medical where they succumbed to their injuries.
Later, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 68-year-old Stephen Howard Georgi of Bakersfield. Medical reports showed that Georgi died from multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was accidental.
Police said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the collision.
