Two Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident near Freeport Street

HOUSTON, TX (November 27, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Michelle Baez Garcia was killed in a wrong-way crash on East Freeway.

Authorities responded to the scene around 12:00 a.m., near Freeport Street on November 5th.

Per reports, officers received calls about a vehicle traveling the wrong way. Shortly after, the wrong-way vehicle struck another car in the oncoming lanes.

Medics arrived and pronounced a passenger inside the vehicle that was hit, and the suspect dead at the scene. Investigators later identified the passenger as 23-year-old Garcia.

Paramedics also took the other driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. The loved ones of Garcia also set up GoFundMe page to help with costs during this time.
