61-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near Franklin Boulevard

SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA (November 22, 2023) – Wednesday evening, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Florin Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m., near Franklin Boulevard.

Officers say the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing from the center median to the sidewalk on eastbound Florin Road.

Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police. Despite life-saving measures, medics later pronounced the 61-year-old male pedestrian dead at the scene.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public.
