Three-Vehicle Collision on Texas Highway 155 Left 2 Dead and One Injured

GILMER, TX (November 22, 2023) – Late Monday morning, a multi-vehicle collision on Bluebell Road claimed the lives of Elijah Auld and Kinzy Jones.

The fatal collision happened on November 6th, at around 11:00 a.m. along Texas Highway 155 at Bluebell Road in Upshur County. 

Based on the police report, a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Impala slowed down to make a left turn on Bluebell Road. 

While yielding to an oncoming vehicle, a northbound tractor-trailer rear-ended the Impala. Upon impact, the Impala was sent into the path of a 2016 Honda Civic traveling in the opposing direction. 

Unfortunately, the passengers of the Impala sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the two deceased victims as Kinzy Jones, 21, and Elijah A. Auld, 20. The two were determined to be residents of Gilmer. 

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the Honda driver, 37-year-old Kailey R. Wildt, to UT Health in Tyler for treatment. The 59-year-old truck driver, Jeffery N. Mitchell, did not sustain any injuries.
