Traffic Collision near Crossroads Loop Kills 70-Year-Old Woman

CAPITOLA, CA (November 22, 2023) – Saturday evening, a hit-and-run collision on Bay Avenue claimed the life of Debra Town. 

The deadly crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the area of 800 Bay Avenue and Crossroads Loop in the town of Capitola. 

According to the investigators, a southbound dark-colored SUV fatally hit a female pedestrian crossing the road.

Subsequently, the driver continued traveling through a parking lot at 820 Bay Avenue and re-entered the Crossroads Loop. Police said the suspect possibly turned eastbound onto Hill Street while fleeing the scene. 

Later, the Capitola Police identified the deceased victim as 70-year-old Debra Town. 

At this time, authorities are offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can lead the police into the arrest of the suspect. Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the street has since been reopened.
