Traffic Collision near Nugent Exit Kills 42-Year-Old Pedestrian
TEMPLE, TX (November 22, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian-auto collision on Interstate 35 took the life of Dawn Michelle Beck.
Police responded to the fatal incident around 2:29 a.m. at the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Nugent exit.
Upon arrival, the officers learned that the vehicle hit a pedestrian trying to cross Interstate 35 on foot. According to the police, there were no signs of four play at the scene.
It was unclear if the vehicle involved in the incident remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
Later, authorities identified the deceased female victim as 42-year-old Dawn Michelle Beck of Temple. Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the interstate has since been reopened to the public.
