29-Year-Old Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Accident on 83rd Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (November 14, 2023) – Friday night, Giovany Escobedo was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Osborn Road.

Around 6:00 p.m., police responded to the scene near 83rd Avenue after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Per reports, the driver of an SUV struck Escobedo who was walking within a marked crosswalk against a signal. Shortly after, Escobedo was also struck by multiple other vehicles.

The male driver who initially struck Escobedo remained in the area and cooperated with the investigation. Officers say he did not show signs of impairment.

Medical personnel later pronounced 29-year-old Escobedo dead at the scene.
