42-Year-Old Suspect Arrested after Injuring Passenger in Vehicle Crash on Interstate 25

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (November 13, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, Alex Tafoya was arrested following a vehicle hit-and-run crash.

It occurred around 2:00 a.m., November 1st, along the southbound lanes of Interstate 25.

The accident involved a Lexus SUV and a Cadillac. Upon investigation, the investigators determined that the Lexus was driven by 42-year-old Alex Tafoya at high speeds when it slammed into the rear of the Cadillac.

Both vehicles were headed southbound. Furthermore, Tafoya fled the scene by foot, but the New Mexico State Police later located him.

Authorities detained Tafoya with DUI and hit-and-run charges. An active investigation is ongoing.
