93-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Thunderbird Road

PHOENIX, AZ (November 10, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, Eli Johnson was killed in a pedestrian accident on 28th Avenue.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., near Thunderbird Road on November 1st.

Per reports, the driver of an eastbound SUV struck 93-year-old Johnson as he was crossing against a “Do Not Walk” sign. Due to the impact of the crash, Johnson sustained fatal injuries after being transported to a hospital.

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officers evaluated the SUV driver who showed no signs of impairment.
