Three Women Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Accident near Di Giorgio Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 9, 2023) – Early Friday morning, Yolanda Godinez, Darli Santiago, and Gabina Santiago de Arias died in a crash.

Around 5:40 a.m., police responded to the scene on Edison Road near Di Giorgio Road on November 3rd.

Per reports, a 38-year-old man was driving a red 1998 Jeep north on Edison Road. Meanwhile, a white Volkswagen was heading east when one driver failed to slow down upon entering the intersection.

As a result, the driver of the Volkswagen lost control of the vehicle and ended up crashing into a railroad crossing arm. Medics arrived and pronounced Godinez, 36, Santiago, 28 and Santiago de Arias, 56, dead.

Meanwhile, paramedics took the Jeep driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment of minor injuries.
