37-Year-Old Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident near Magna Avenue

HAYWARD, CA (November 9, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one woman was killed and a man was hurt in a solo-car crash on Winton Avenue.

Officers arrived to the scene around 2:14 a.m., near Magna Avenue.

Upon arrival, police learned that a car failed to make a turn from southbound  D Street onto westbound Winton. There, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree.

First responders declared the female passenger dead at the scene. Police only described her as a 37-year-old Richmond resident. 

Meanwhile, paramedics took the 46-year-old male driver of the other vehicle to a nearby hospital for further treatment. He is now listed in critical but stable condition.

The Alameda County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been notified. Authorities are asking anyone with additional information about the crash to contact the Hayward Police at (510) 293-7066.
