19-Year-Old Woman Dies in Fatal Collision near Mile Post 57

GRANT COUNTY, WA (November 8, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Grace Vickers was killed in a 2-vehicle accident on State Route 24.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:40 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Mile Post 57.

Per reports, 19-year-old Vickers was driving a 2000 Honda Civic west when she veered off the road. While attempting to veer back onto the road she struck a 2022 Honda Accord, driven by a 21-year-old man.

Upon impact, Vickers’ vehicle fell down a ditch while the Accord overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Consequently, the driver of the Accord suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Responding paramedics later pronounced Vickers dead at the scene, due to the extent of injuries sustained. Once available, further details will be provided.
