18-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Two-Vehicle Crash near 180 Interchange

FRESNO, CA (November 8, 2023) – Monday evening, a DUI collision on Highway 99 in Central Fresno left at least two drivers badly injured.

Police responded to reports of the crash along the northbound lanes of Highway 99, south of the Highway 180 interchange.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old woman collided with a concrete barrier. The impact of the first crash caused the woman’s vehicle to hit another car. 

Medical responders transported the female driver to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Meanwhile, the occupant of the second vehicle sustained moderate injuries but is expected to be okay. 

In the end, Fresno Officials closed two northbound lanes of Highway 99 as crews cleared the scene. 

After being medically cleared, authorities will transfer the female driver to Fresno County Jail for DUI.
