61-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision near 28th Street

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (November 7, 2023) – Thursday night, Arianna Kopecky was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Seawall Boulevard.

The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. on October 26, along 28th Seawall Boulevard.

According to reports, Kopecky was driving a pickup-truck west when she struck a pedestrian who was crossing from south to north.

Upon impact, the driver immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

Emergency personnel arrived and rushed the pedestrian to a nearby trauma center at John Sealy Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Personnel closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations.

Following preliminary duties, officers were able to gather enough evidence to locate the suspect. Crews later arrested 23-year-old Arianna Kopecky for DUI and collision involving death.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be released.
