71-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near El Cibola Road

EDINBURG, TX (November 7, 2023)Luiz Gonzalez died Thursday evening in a pedestrian collision on North 25th Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 9:41 p.m., near El Cibola Road on October 26th.

Per reports, the driver of a northbound Chevrolet Silverado struck a pedestrian in the area. Medical personnel arrived and found the severely injured victim in the grassy median.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel later pronounced 71-year-old Gonzalez dead at the scene. Investigators say he was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time.

Following preliminary duties, the driver is not currently facing any criminal charges. Once available, more details will be provided.
