3 Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Collision near Island Crest Way
MERCER ISLAND, WA (November 7, 2023) – Early Monday morning, Ari Jimenez, Austin Tsai, and Bugeon Jim died in a wrong-way crash.
Police responded shortly after midnight on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Island Crest Way on October 30th.
Per reports, 30-year-old Jimenez was driving west at high rates of speed on the eastbound HOV lane. As a result, the wrong-way vehicle crashed into an oncoming Subaru, occupied by 22-year-old Tsai and 23-year-old Jim.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced all three occupants dead at the scene.
During cleanup and preliminary duties, authorities blocked all eastbound lanes before they were later reopened around 5:30 a.m.
