28-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Traffic Accident near West King Road

TUCSON, AZ (November 6, 2023) – On Tuesday evening, police responded to a pedestrian accident that claimed the life of Diego Cavazos.

The incident happened near North Oracle Road and West King Road shortly after 9:30 p.m., on October 24th.

According to the TPD, they arrived at the scene and found 28-year-old Cavazos on the roadway with life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, the paramedics immediately transported Cavazos to Banner University Medical Center where he later died of his injuries on October 26th.

Moreover, the investigation showed that Cavazos crossed Oracle Road when struck by a black 2014 Ford Fusion driven by a 33-year-old man headed south.

In addition, the authorities said that Cavazos was not in a crosswalk when the incident happened.

Consequently, the driver remained at the scene, and the authorities evaluated him.

Meanwhile, the authorities added that Cavazos had drugs in his system. Furthermore, they issued no charges or citations to the driver. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
