1 Killed, 2 Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision on Loop 101 [Peoria, AZ]
One Pronounced Dead after Tour-Bus Accident near Thunderbird Road
PEORIA, AZ (November 3, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one victim was killed and two were hurt in a wrong-way collision on Loop 101.
Authorities responded to the scene on the northbound lanes of the freeway around 3:40 a.m., on October 29th.
Per reports, the driver of a truck was heading south in the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a tour-bus occupied by seven people.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the driver of the truck dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took two bus occupants to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.
In addition, investigators say one bus passenger was ejected from the vehicle onto the road. Five other occupants were also treated on scene for minor wounds.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time before later reopening the road just before 9:50 a.m.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal wrong-way collision on Loop 101.
