Woman Killed, 2 Injured in Rollover Accident on Highway 99 [Bakersfield, CA]
Female Passenger Dies in Single-Vehicle Rollover Collision near Olive Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 2, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a woman was killed and two were injured in a rollover accident on Highway 99.
The deadly crash happened just after 2:30 p.m., near Olive Drive on October 29th.
Per reports, the driver of a 2004 Ford was heading south approaching Olive Drive and lost control while making a turn. The Ford then left the roadway before crashing into a wooden post and overturning.
Investigators say the driver and the front passenger were both wearing their seatbelts. However, a female passenger in the back did not have her seatbelt on. As a result, she was ejected from the Ford onto the road.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the severely injured female passenger dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took the driver and another passenger to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not yet released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol was a factor in the rollover accident on Highway 99.
